Privacy Policy

Overview

You do not create an MXServiceBuddy account. Your motorcycles, service records, shortcuts, notes, VINs, purchase details, and preferences are stored locally on your device and, when you are signed in to iCloud, synchronize through your private iCloud database so they can stay available on your other devices using the same Apple Account. Appertino AB does not operate or have access to that private database.

Information handled by the app

Information you enter

The app stores the information you choose to enter, which may include motorcycle names, make and model, year, VIN, purchase date, odometer or engine-hour readings, service history, maintenance intervals, notes, and shortcuts. The app keeps a local copy on your device and synchronizes it through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available. This does not give Appertino AB access to your maintenance data.

Analytics and diagnostics

MXServiceBuddy does not contain an embedded analytics service and does not send app-launch, feature-interaction, motorcycle, or maintenance data to Appertino AB for analytics.

Apple may provide us with aggregated App Store statistics, such as downloads, installations, sessions, active devices, retention, purchases, and subscriptions. Usage statistics and diagnostic reports are available only where users have chosen to share them with app developers through Apple and where Apple’s privacy thresholds are met. Apple collects and processes this information under its own privacy terms.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. MXServiceBuddy receives product and entitlement status from Apple so it can unlock Pro features. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. Apple handles purchase information under its own privacy policy.

Crash information

If you have agreed to share diagnostics with app developers through Apple, Apple may make crash and diagnostic reports available to us. These reports are provided and controlled through Apple’s systems.

How information is used

• To provide maintenance tracking, service reminders, exports, subscription features, and private iCloud synchronization across your devices.
• To maintain subscription entitlement across launches and reinstalls through Apple.
• To review aggregated App Store performance and optional Apple diagnostic reports so we can maintain and improve the app.
• To meet legal, security, and App Store obligations.

We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party advertising, or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

Sharing and service providers

We do not share your motorcycle or maintenance data with analytics providers, and Appertino AB cannot access the data in your private iCloud database. Apple provides and processes private iCloud storage and synchronization, App Store purchases, aggregated App Store statistics, and optional diagnostic reports as described above. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s privacy terms. Information we control may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.

Exports and links you choose

PDF or JSON exports are created only when you request them. Once you share an export through another app or service, that recipient’s privacy practices apply. If you import data from a URL, the app connects to the address you provide; the operator of that server may receive standard network information such as your IP address.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Your maintenance data remains in the app’s local storage and private iCloud database until you edit or delete it in the app. Deleting an item in the app synchronizes that deletion to your other devices using the same Apple Account. Uninstalling the app removes its local copy from that device but may not remove the private iCloud copy; reinstalling while signed in to the same Apple Account can restore synchronized data. Because we do not receive or access this private data, we cannot retrieve or delete it remotely.

MXServiceBuddy does not retain its own analytics event history about your use of the app. Apple determines the retention and availability of App Store statistics and optional diagnostic reports in its systems. You can manage Apple diagnostic sharing in iOS Settings and manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we control. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Apple protects private CloudKit data through the user’s Apple Account and iCloud security technologies, as described in Apple’s privacy terms.

Children

MXServiceBuddy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or legal requirements change. If we introduce an analytics or diagnostic service that collects information from the app, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information before enabling that collection. We will publish the revised policy here, update its effective date, and communicate material changes where required.
